22 of the top e-commerce websites in North America: 150 e-commerce conversion optimization projects

Since 1995 our founders and team members architected, designed and deployed 22 of the largest e-commerce websites in North America. During the last two years, we have successfully completed 150 conversion optimization projects.

History

We founded Invesp in 2006 with a promise of delivering better E-commerce.

We should know something about that. Prior to Invesp, we saw companies that invested millions of dollars into their websites, integrating the latest and greatest technologies, driving thousands of visitors to it, and then nothing happens.Of course, nothing is a relative term; but with millions in investments and over 50,000 visitors per day, yet only 10 orders placed, you would have to agree with us that it is just too little.

When we tell people that we deliver better e-commerce through a focus on visitors, we see their eyes glaze over. But when we start talking about our results, the discussion gets livelier. Since our inception, we have gone through many changes, each time improving our services and what we have to offer.

The brains behind invesp

Khalid Saleh (pronounced ka-lid) is the leading e-commerce architect in North America. He was the lead for 12 of the largest ecommerce operations including Motorola, AMEX, Levelor, Citrix, WWT, Nabors, and many others.

Khalid managed all aspects of ecommerce design and implementation for these companies; from the initial stages of creating the concepts, through the grueling process of implementation, and finally to releasing and marketing these sites. He continues to consult with companies all around the world advising them on e-commerce operations.

Ayat Shukairy (pronounced i-yat) is a leading conversion optimization and usability expert with hundreds of published articles. Ayat’s client list includes companies such as HowStuffWorks, ReMAX, Discovery, CSRI, and PGI Connect. Ayat led over 150 global conversion optimization projects overseeing all aspects from market analysis and person creation to full optimization implementation. She consistently delivers double digit increases in conversion rates for her clients. Ayat has conducted several webinars and has been a featured blogger on sites such as Elastic Path, Toilet Paper Entrepreneur, and Reinvention Marketing.

Together, the Invesp team, developed and tested the Conversion Framework" to standardize the process of conversion rate optimization. We know from our own clients how frustrating e-commerce can be. Additionally, in early 2008 we published our first book, Landing Page Optimization: The Complete Guide. The book has been widely received by leaders across the industry and offers expert insight on the detailed process of landing page optimization.

We write regularly on our e-commerce optimization blog, where we post lessons we learn every day, few mistakes here and there, rants and much more.

Clients we love or hate to work with

Well, eventually you learn that you cannot work with every client out there.

We learned that the hard way. Conversion optimization requires an absolute commitment to change and a willingness to let website visitors have their final say. You would think that generating double digit conversion rates will convince people to listen. But there are small companies stuck in their ways, and larger companies where everything is decided through a political battle. We have a tough time working with each of these types. We can try to help you, but you really must be willing to help yourself in the first place.

Now, don’t get us wrong. We don’t want to turn business away. But we want to make sure we can actually help you. That is another reason why we are willing to spend the time upfront analyzing your website and running the numbers to make sure conversion optimization is the right solution for you. Being a little picky helped us deliver consistent results for our clients in the last two years.

What else should you know about us?

We are fairly a small company compared to many of our competitors. That helps us keep the quality of our services at a level we are very proud of. We ran large professional services engagement previously and are very capable of growing our staff fast but that is not the direction we want to take our business. The team at Invesp is a small family and we are careful about who we select. Because of that, we take on a limited number of projects every year.
Our business decisions are driven by our values. Values that go beyond typical corporate lingo; they are terms we all fully understand and live by:

  • Client focused delivery: Our clients engage our services here at Invesp because they want to see an improvement in their bottom line. So, if we don’t deliver the results you are looking for, you would have wasted your time and money.
  • Openness: Did we mention that we are very open and honest. If you need us to sugar coat things for you, we prefer not toJ. Conversion optimization is about being honest of what works and what does not on your website so that you and the Invesp team can be winners.
  • Creativity: Conversion optimization is part science and part art. Creativity is essential to the success of anyone working in this field. But then again, Conversion Optimization is more than just designing a professional website, although we have a great deal of respect for good designers.
