Interesting question Khalid. I would think a sites charisma will often be tied to the lead person behind the site. The voice of a blogger for instance could be charismatic or not.

I think the design of the site could add charisma to a site as well. In truth every part of the site from the content to the way a form works can add or detract from the site’s charisma.

This is definitely an interesting question and one I’ll have to think about more.

I must agree with you Kelly. I guess if it is not design, then it must be tone of voice, style of writing, perspective, authority. All of these combined make a blog more charismatic than others.

I’m still debating about websites in general, but I definitely think blogs have charisma (or the people behind them perhaps?) It’s not even design–since I read most in Google Reader. For instance, I am subscribed to dozens of blogs about email marketing… Most of them cover very similar content are informative and well written, etc., but when I open my reader, there are always the few I always jump to first. My hunch is it’s the charisma that sets those blogs apart.
