Every year I spend the last couple of days of the year contemplating what my new year’s resolutions for the following year should be. Of course I have the typical “I will exercise at least 3 times a week and eat healthy” goals, but then this year my thoughts began shifting towards business goals which led me to create the following list of new year’s resolutions for Invesp.

1) To clearly define what I want my business to look like in one year and to set specific attainable goals to make it happen.

2) To not be afraid to think big. Every successful online company started small and grew to its current state through hard work and the motivation that if some 20-something college drop-out was able to take a garage idea and make it big. Why can’t a team of talented and experienced individuals do the same, if not better?

3) To stay focused on offering what we do best as internet consultants and not try to offer everything. Sometimes when we’re not having a great week it’s easy to lose focus and try to become a provider of every online marketing service, which ends up wearing us thin.

4) To make sure to fully utilize all the resources and tools I have previously purchased and not put anything to waste. A good example of this would be to make time to read the tons of books I’ve purchased in an effort to further increase my knowledge and expertise instead of just leaving them to collect dust on the shelf.

5) To make sure that when I’m not ahead of the competition to look at what they’re doing right and not be afraid to follow their example. It’s important to recognize that we’re not always going to be the first ones to come up with the best ideas, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t take that idea and be better at executing it.

6) To continue to invest my time and money into my business without second-guessing my intuition that we will be a success. It takes time for the return on your investment, and it’s important to stay patient and not give up.

7) To make sure everyone on my team realizes they’re a valuable asset to our company. Without them we wouldn’t be moving forward.

By following these resolutions I hope to accomplish the ultimate goal of becoming a successful online marketing consultant. Have any of you come up with any business new year’s resolutions?

Pretty big list! Good luck on your resolutions. I have a big list myself, and one of them is basically to not be afraid of thinking big.

What do you think?
