Inspired by the give-away running on one of my favorite blogs, create business growth, we are running a new give-away for the next few weeks. Every week we will randomly pick a visitor who left a comment on our blog and send them a free book. This is our way to say thank you to those who help make the discussion on our blog much more interesting.

How to enter?

Simple! Leave a “good” comment on one of our posts during the week and you will automatically be entered to win the contest. Of course, please make sure to include your email address so we can contact you. Winners who live outside of North America will receive a gift certificate from Amazon.com for the price of the book for that week.

Of course Spam comments are not eligible to win. The same applies to filler comments such as, “great posts.” We are looking for ways to enhance the conversation so that everyone can benefit.

Hmmm, so besides the book why should I leave a comment?

  • A blog is a two way conversation. Our goal from this blog is to listen, learn and engage each other. Comments are the only way to have a meaningful discussion.
  • But that is not all. Other readers on the site usually click on meaningful comments to learn more about person who left them. The more you comment, the more chances you have of people clicking on your name and visiting your site.
  • Still not sure? How about some link juice! Comments on our blog are no “no-follow”. This is our way to thank those who participate in the discussion.

How about your RSS feed contest?

Our $400 free give away is still running. Make sure to look for that secret word at the bottom of one of our posts in the next couple of weeks.

[...] Khalid is trying his best to encourage comments, but of course, we do need to lay down some ground rules for comments.  Yes, the INVESP Blog loves and encourages its readers to leave comments, and that’s why our rules are easy to follow and encourage great insight from our readers: [...]

its a very good idea but i dont think u would want to end up with good but fake posts just to win a book. IMO people must post a good comment only because they feel its a good post.

khalid Says -- August 28th, 2007 at 9:53 pm

Web hosting freak,

I must agree that most who leave comments do so because they feel the post is good. However, many site visitors do not comment even if they do like the post. We are only trying to encourage those who hesitate :)

search engines are punishing web site owners for leaving blog comments flagging them as spam. I hope more sites like yours remove the no follow!
…..and I read your article…..and I wanna win your book!!!!
