There are so many different things you can do to market your business online. Writing blogs, social media marketing, forum participation, and the list goes on. For me, blogging and online forum participation are probably the two activities that I do on daily basis. But I find myself doing many other things regularly.

So, I am trying to see what other people do to market their business online. Let me start first. Here is the list of different things that I do:

1. Write a pillar post (over 1500 words)
2. Create a link-bait article (Yes, I do some of that!)
3. Write a long blog post (800 -1200 words)
4. Write a short blog post (300-800 words)
5. Guest blogging
6. Conduct an interview for my blog
7. Comment on blog I commented on before
8. Comment on blog I did not commented on before
9. Comment on my blog
10. Email another blogger/forum member
11. IM conversation with another blogger/forum member
12. Start a thread on a forum
13. Respond to thread on a forum
14. Attend training session: yes I do consider that to be part of marketing!
15. Prepare a presentation
16. Present a Webinar
17. Complete a short white paper (less than 12 pages)
18. Complete a long white paper (over than 12 pages)
19. Attend a conference (yes, yes it is online marketing for me!)
20. Follow up with a contact via email after conference
21. Follow up with a contact via phone after conference

Do you have a list of online marketing activates you try to do every day?

Just curious – How many of those do you do every day? Or how often do you do any of them?

Hi Kelly,

I probably do at least 10 different activities from my list every day. Some of these such as attending conferences or writing a white paper will only happen every few months. But over a week period, I think I try to hit most activities at least once.

I found that if I do not come up with a list like this, I end up forgetting to do certain things. So my list helps keep me on track with the different marketing activities I should focus on.

Do you have any activities that you try to do regularly?

Hi Khalid,
How about:
- writing NEW posts (avoid duplicate content) to online magazines?
- Dedicated time to research and link building. (take a look on my post Inbound Link from your competitors)
- Research of new blogs/websites? Every month I add 5 to 10 new websites/blogs to my Reader.
- Send some link juice to begginers bloggers.
Cheers
Lucio

Lucio,

I like these suggestions. I noramlly include new posts to online magazines as part of guest blogging (number 5 on the list). I will definitly add the rest to my sheet tho. Thanks for the comment.

The list has made it to the blog!!! A great way to implement this is to create a point system. It’s a great way to track your progress, and always try to achieve a specific number of points. Good luck!

- Business card with your blog/website, designed specificly for seminars.
I do have and work fine.

- Yahoo answers (answering questions), good way to expose your online presence with a shot of online reputation management.

Ayat, I think your system is great, set up goals and objectives based on points you need to achieve monthly/weekly. I’ll give a try.
Cheers
Lucio

Lucio,

these are more great suggestions. We actually use activities in the blog as a point system for everyone at invesp.
